Distributed MapReduce Framework

A fault-tolerant MapReduce system with concurrent scheduling and speculative execution.

  • Implemented a coordinator-worker MapReduce system in Go using RPC.
  • Built concurrent task scheduling with goroutines and channels, including automatic reassignment when workers fail.
  • Added speculative execution for straggling tasks to improve overall job completion time.

An AI-powered resume generator that transforms GitHub repositories into tailored STAR-format resume bullets.

  • Built a full-stack application with a React and Tailwind frontend and a FastAPI backend.
  • Containerized the application with Docker.
  • Used PineconeDB embeddings and semantic search to match repositories with relevant job descriptions.

Database Systems Projects

Core database components covering buffer management, indexing, and query planning.

  • Implemented a DBMS buffer manager with frame allocation, LRU eviction, and pin/unpin semantics.
  • Built indexing structures that reduced query lookup from O(n) scans to O(1) access.
  • Developed a SQL-like query engine that selects between table and index scans based on query characteristics.
